re 1) That makes sense, actually. Bloodlines can get messy really fast, and it makes SPN work a bit better - Dean and Sam aren't ALWAYS the center of attention. (And for the record? A cooler way to handle the Cain + Abel descendants idea exists in SMT: Devil Survivor. It'd be spoilers to tell you who, but IMHO I thought that was better handled. In SPN it was 'you're Cain, you're Abel, now here's more about angels', and in DS1 it's more...complicated.
