Godstiel did mention that Michael had to be kept in the pit. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed meaningful that he didn't say Michael AND Lucifer. That might come into play later. Perhaps Michael, who was the first being created after God did away with the leviathans, will later be pertinent to the plot (or so I hope, because they built him up to be BAMF, but Lucifer became considerably more interesting).
