THREE SENTENCE AU MEME
Give me pairings (or characters). Give me an AU setting. I will write you a three-sentence fic.

I will also finally be responding to comments and getting down to work on the draft of

xmenbigbang this morning. I have a week (and a clear outline, thankfully). Stranger miracles have happened. ;P

The story will follow the Brotherhood after the end of X-Men: First Class with background Charles/Erik, Erik/Raven, Azazel/Riptide, and Alex/Hank/Sean, but they're incidental to the story.

What are people's opinions on listing background character relationships when the movement is primarily gen?

I had a free chunk of time this morning before heading out, though I'm not sure this is what you wanted; I hope you enjoy it! :D

Dean is man enough to admit he has a problem with authority at the best of times, but he’s a professional – and his quarterly numbers show he gets the job done – he’d just like to know how someone five years his junior was promoted so quickly above him.

“Lunch at your desk,” Zachariah, his supervisor, explains the reality of what it will cost Dean to get the regional manager position Zachariah thinks he deserves (and Dean can’t deny the recognition feels… good), “And most nights will be challenging, but don’t worry: I’ll be by your side the whole way.”

Zachariah’s smile is a superior craft and Dean finally understands: Zachariah is young, but not condescending, he’s capable and that smile makes Dean wants to trust him; suddenly the prospect of burning the midnight oil with this guy at his shoulder (or splayed across his desk; in his chair) sounds even more appealing.

*loves on* This is definitely close to what I wanted, and is excellent reading and picturing, so \o/

I meant to send this before I headed out, but then my computer overheated. ^^;

Raphael slams the cash register shut and leans a hand on her hip, head cocking to the side; her dark gaze narrows at Gabriel with a slow, calculating smile that is undoubtedly not appropriate for their clients unless she was going to undress (or disembowel) them, and Gabriel wonders if she’s doing this on purpose.

'Probably' is the best answer.

ladyknightanka suggested Matt Bomer would be a nice stand-in for a younger vessel of Zachariah's; I must agree. He can stand in for anyone he likes, any time he wants, in my books.

If I can shake off the White Collar reminders, then yes, he fits absolutely. Dark brown/black hair, fine looks - yes. Zach with the same personality but him as an actor would have been slashed a ton.

I'd love to see Matt Bomer in a dark and sadistic role, but I'd also like to consider alternative younger vessels who wear the bald (or shorn) look really well.

Raphael is just a wonderful, wonderful archangel, and not even SPN can convince me otherwise. In fact SPN made me love her more.
