The Supernatural Rareship Fest is on again and it's my first time participating, whoo! Kudos to

milliganoutbitches for not shooing me away when she first advertised she had started a team for Michael/Adam. :P

Now, our team is full, but there are still a whole host of awesome company with space to fill (e.g. Gabriel/Lucifer/Sam, Anna/Jo) and why is there still no Michael/Lucifer team? Come on, guys!

Happy holidays, everyone, or if it's still on its way for you, I hope that you have an absolute blast when it comes. As romantic as it looks, if you're in the Northern hemisphere, I don't recommend enjoying the snow a la mode of the above example. And if you're in the South like me, well, bring on the mocktails. ♥

I recently got back into state and we finally had our internet connected at the new apartment (phew!), so I thought I'd kick this off before I disappeared again under the sea of work + tying up writing challenges in the sprint to the end of 2011 (

bellatemple, this means you).

It's been another amazing year in fandom, I've met so many new people and had such a great time vaulting the hurdles with the lot of you. I've learned a lot about myself, my writing, and I want to give back to you guys for always giving me reasons to smile; especially on Mondays.

I'll be taking prompts until late December for any of the fandoms you can see on my profile page. I write for any/all pairings or gen, as long as I know the people involved (and if not, I'll let you know!), so please have fun; go nuts. - My sister and I've found a new place to move to and we sign the lease this week (whoo!), but this means I'll be largely MIA as we pack up the house;

- Happy to report that

cashay is alive and apparently having a ball down south working hard with All of the Animals, good on you!

- I've been plotting with my artist

bellatemple this past week for

spn_reversebang and it's been incredible fun. She is such a resource and an enthusiastic partner in crime, I can't believe everyone's supposed to start posting their work in only a month's time! Hope everyone's going well with their stories, I'm really excited to see what people come up with!

- I wrote some more for

xmenbigbang this weekend with the combined forces of "Run the World (Girls)" and "Apocalypse, Please" on auto-loop (this big bang playlist is terrible, it's so good, it also features mash-ups of Britney and Muse, EMF and En Vogue. So terrible. 8D). I still laugh every time Beyoncé sings "F you, pay me!" and Matt Bellamy's piano is just dramatic enough to lead me down the garden path. I have been reading so much XFC fic recently oscillating between anything featuring the Brotherhood's three ladies or Hank, Alex, and Sean. What a shame we still need sleep.

- After years of working in an office, I'm still terrible at ironing clothes. If I wasn't such a fan of suits, ye gads.... I can't even say ironing is so boring because it's the way I catch up on TV, but my iron fist could use some work. And with this, I segue into the recount of Supernatural 7x03:

I hear the divide on the new season of Supernatural is 50/50.

Also, I watched Torchwood season four and it was fan-freaking-tastic ("Did you see Ianto?" *soblovesob*). I loved everyone and everything, the writing was wonderful, that ending was so cathartic, and other TW fans may not agree, but I actually enjoyed this more than any of what Torchwood ever offered before. Well done, team.

I think it's been years since I properly went through my flist, so I spent about three hours this afternoon cleaning up the comms where I'm no longer active, removing friends whose journals are no longer in use, and waving a belated 'hello' to those friends I could recognise from fandom.

I might have missed a few people in error, though, so give me a poke if I have! :D

Firstly, someone (ahem,

thedreamisreal) reminded me that it was someone else's birthday today: Adam Milligan. Well, yesterday my time, today for most of you behind us in the timezone.

I remembered this a week ago. I think it even occurred to me on Monday. Then I got sick and higher brain function? Ba-aa-ah....

So, the

adamwinchester comm is hosting a party post just for funsies, recs, everything and anything, including a three sentence comment fic meme because that's good, easy fun that everyone can join in on.

Secondly, I got my choice for

spn_reversebang, whoo! Teamfic fun, bring it on! Hurry and contact me, artist, we have funs to begin! I can be serious, I swear. Just wait for this cold to pass; ahem. AHEM. I need sleep.

I've taken a few days for myself, which means that I can do nice, leisurely things like make myself a big brunch and sit down to watch television I'd missed.

Like the season seven (I still can't believe it, seven seasons?) return of Supernatural.

The f-locked art preview for

spn_reversebang opened yesterday on September 26 and will remain locked until Thursday, September 29, when authors can stake their claims.

I highly recommend everyone go over to have a gander (you must be a member of the comm to view the art posts) because they are beautiful, and if you're participating, you want to be ready with your top three choices (with back-up options) to post as a comment in the correct format. Details for how to claim are here.

There is an amazing stock of choices over there and I loved seeing the diversity of styles and ideas.

I think my brain has overloaded for the year on drama and justifying how people who should not be together somehow fall in love (XD), so it was the gen prompts that spoke to me strongest. And then the crack. Of course, some of the couple art also dragged me in, so it's safe to say that I have many, many choices, and my only hope is that whoever gets stuck with me is easy-going yet explicit with what they hope for in a story.

The mods already said it, but it's worth reiterating: when claiming, be considerate and empathetic of the artists who will read the comments. It can be agonising waiting to be claimed. Nobody needs to be crushed by reading such things as "All the good ones are gone" or "Well, it wasn't my first or fifth choice, but is #blah still free?"

Being creative is difficult enough without putting yourself out there in such a public forum as a big bang challenge. We're all still learning. We'll all still have a long way to go. Be considerate. We only succeed by persevering with practice, practice, practice, but a little encouragement and a lot less negativity go a long way.

Above all else, keep an open mind. You might be surprised at what you find.

In addition to the old reliable resource of Write or Die, the

gsd_rtfn ("Get Sh*t Done Right the F*ck Now") support community is a great resource for all fanworks if you've been struggling (e.g. finishing that first draft of the art or fic, or polishing the final beta) because there will be a whole motley crew of people just like you and, through mutual encouragement with daily progress check-ins, they will help you get there.

The community has started a new round today and I highly recommend signing up to cheerlead each other if you need a little motivational force to get you over the line.

I'm using this to get my
