I'm out of Brimstone episodes.

[really has to stop watching the end of shows over dinner]

And I was actually enjoying it towards the end! Why couldn't they have cracked into the heavy plot in episode two?

So, episode 13 served up a surprising platter of canon femme slash and who could deny the unholy trinity opportunities of Zeke/Ash/Rosalyn? After the reveal, the first thing that popped to mind was "Whoa, Zeke! She's in your house! Bangin' your widow! ... And I think she's enjoying it (you know, that ability of hers has real potential)."

Speaking of abilities, why does everyone out of Hell, except Zeke have manifested powers and if nothing else, inhuman strength? Was Lucifer just making it harder for him? Did the escapees somehow tap into power during their exodus? Would Zeke have eventually manifested some power over the course of the series if it continued?

Lucifer's infuriatingly endearing and he steals all the best lines. Who was he on his way to see with that giant, golden heart-shaped box at the end of ep 13?

Max and Zeke = Best pals, theirs is a platonic love of commiserating hearts and minds. The writer and her muse. The detective and his medic. The hotel secretary and her client. The hunter and his conscience. For these two, I'm sort of glad the show ended where it did because I have a fear that if it went on, it might have drawn to some natural progression towards a romantic relationship between these two and I adore them as Best Friends FOREVAA-AA-AR (BFFs).

I really need to make me some Brimstone icons (and buy me some icon space) once this semester is all over [crosses fingers]. And hopefully when it all goes down it won't be in a spectacular blaze of fire.

Kudos to trascendenza for introducing me to this show, if it has angels (fallen or otherwise) in it I'll always check out a rec. Except that Angel in America bit, I never got round to that one.

Do you guys have any angel-related shows or films you'd like to share?

I'm watching Episode 12, "Captain Jack Harkness" of Torchwood to cheer myself. I love the nostalgic tone of the Western 40s (you know, aside from all the murder, bombing and depression) and there is nothing I DON'T like about this episode. Original Captain Jack makes me cry with happiness on sight (so pretty are the eyes) and Tosh is a darling for a deer in headlights (so determined is she).

Oh, good Lord, that is the funniest Brimstone joke I have ever heard. YOU WIN. I kind of want to see this on an icon. *g*

Zeke/Ash/Ros is canon, in my mind. I mean, seriously--they were on the verge of it right then and there. If Ash had just put that knife down they could have all had themselves a really good time. I also like Lucifer/Zeke/Ash as a really fucked-up threesome, hehe.

Very good question. I do wonder if he ever would have manifested hellish powers or if he would have always been at a disadvantage. Seems like something the Devil would to do him; purposefully keep him less powerful. Then again, as he'd come up against more and more powerful hellions--the ones who were smarter and stayed hidden better, and the older ones like Ash--he'd probably need some powers of his own to succeed.

And yes! While I can see the potential of Max/Zeke, I'm glad it never came on-screen, because they are ADORABLE as BFFs. Their dynamic was just perfect, and god, so funny at times, especially when Max is telling Zeke about the modern world. *g* I want to find a nice girl to pair Max up with, actually, because the girl deserves a break after that crummy Rod. (His name is Rod! That should be an automatic warning sign!)

Brimstone icons=yessssss. :D

Also, yeah, I feel you about the heavy plot. It really seems like they were just hitting their stride at thirteen. Waaaaah! Although this is an interesting jumping off point for where they might have gone next.

When this semester is over (and all assessment is passed), I am sitting myself down and making all the Brimstone and Heroes icons that have been plaguing the part of my mind that belongs to Photoshop. Your icon is very sweet ♥. Zeke did warm to me by the end, I accepted him in his faultiness, though he's not as suspicious of people as I assumed he should be, he IS a little quick to draw the gun, and like me, he procrastinates with food -- he's all right in the end.

Plus, I want a happy ending for Ros and Zeke. I'm with you, Zeke/Ash/Ros is canon, but I was so surprised a studio would serve that up (maybe that's why the show got cut [tear]) and not beat around the bush on the fact that this demon is a woman, posing as a man, sexin' the protagonist's woman and enjoying it. I half-expected Ash to say "we could all be together and happy", rather than "*I'd* make a much better Ros than the real Ros, you know, even though we both enjoy her so much. Zeke, you obsess me more! Be mine!"

I don't get what it is in Hell that gives a soul powers upon exit, but I definitely think the devil would have handicapped Zeke just so he could be smug for himself and his excellent choice when Zeke finally succeeds. Zeke just needed a push.

So, where's your Brimstone posse and do they carry fiction? [g]

Gaa-aa-aa-ah, they denied me rogue angels?? ANGELS! MORE! NEED. [weeps] Oh well, knowing my luck it probably just would have been some Bowie wannabe punk with too much interest in the squallor of mortality and not enough harking about Heaven, which is what I enjoy.

Looking forward to seeing those :D I am a little sad that there aren't too many hi-res Brimphotos out there, although I'm sure if I dug around I could find more John Glover ones (and, really, anything where he has that devious smile one will work for a Devil icon *g*).

And, yeah, I was always a little surprised at how fast he drew out the gun—and then the situations where should have but didn't. *g* But I did like that he was flawed; sometimes I get sick of overly lovable protags so he's a nice change-of-pace for me.

Ugh, yeah, the note they ended on with Zeke/Ros kind of killed me. *sighs* And she was on her way to find him, too. Waaaaaaaaah.

LOL. Such a good point. By then, it really didn't make much sense for her to pretend that she didn't just want them to skip off into the sunset in OT3monial bliss. And what a great final episode it would have made, too. *g*

Well, lucifen is the one community I've found that still has occasional activity. As I'm sure you noticed, dreams_power has written a good amount of Brimfic; sidewiner and m_butterfly are the two most well-known authors in the fandom, I think? I keep meaning to go back and read everything that's been posted but it's one of those things that's been sitting on my to-do list forever, dagnabit. tinheart has written some but she's being overly perfectionistic and not posting it :P

Oh, and also--you should totally write rogue Angel fic!! I thought that episode idea sounded fascinating and would love to see your take on it. :D
